What do you do, in your everyday life, to help Mother Earth? Here's what I do: (1) Cut down on plastic: I don't use plastic or disposable straws, culinary, or grocery bags. I carry reusable ones around with me. (2) Look for products with sustainability and eco-friendly standards: I choose @fairtrademarkus and @ecoproductsinc brands, every chance I get. This applies to food, facial products, fashion, etc... For fashion I use the @goodonyou_app: the app allows consumers to check a brand for its impact on people, the planet, and animals. When shopping for food I always look for "Fair Trade" and "Sustainability" on the label. I also love products with GiveBack partners: products that give back all or part of their proceeds to good causes - examples: @eschocolate and @newmansown. I also follow the @ethicalelephant blog, for ethical updates! (3) Find a cause that matters to you, and spread awareness: Not everyone can afford to give back, but everyone can spread awareness. Find a cause that matters to you, and talk about it. There is always something you can do! Here are a few examples; -WILDLIFE - @edwildlifefund - was established to support global conservation efforts for critically endangered species. -WILDLIFE and ECO-SYSTEM -The @wwf's mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth; food, climate, fresh water, wildlife, forests, and oceans. -WILDLIFE - ELEPHANTS AND IVORY (and a lot more) - @wildaid has a demand reduction campaign to educate consumers that ivory can no longer be bought or sold legally. Awareness is key. -WILDLIFE - @action4ifaw is a global non-profit organization that protects animals and the places they call home. -MARINE LIFE - @cmaquarium works to rescue, rehab, and release injured or displaced marine life. -SHARKS - @sharkweek is dedicated to saving sharks through building awareness, education, and action. -WATER - 1 in 10 people lack access to clean water. @charitywater is on a mission to
One of our team members just flew through @atlairport and came across an amazing art expo all about #pangolins! It's exciting and a breath of fresh air to see the world starting to recognize this amazing species.
Please read my previous post, Stop The Slaughter, #whenthebuyingstopsthekillingcantoo Chickens are the most abused #animals on the planet. In the US, approximately 9 billion #chicken are killed for their flesh each year, and 305 million #hens are used for their #eggs. The vast majority of these animals spend their lives in total confinement—from the moment they hatch until the day they are killed. A #baby#chick on a #factoryfarm will never be allowed contact with his or her parents, let alone be raised by them. These chickens are deprived of the chance to take dust baths, feel the warmth of the sun on their backs, breathe fresh air, roost in trees, and build nests. Because the #male chicks of #egglaying breeder hens are unable to lay eggs and are not bred to produce excessive flesh for the #meat industry, they are killed. Every year, 200 million of these young #birds are ground up ALIVE or tossed into bags to suffocate. Chickens raised for their flesh, called “#broilers” by the #chickenindustry, spend their entire lives in filthy sheds with tens of thousands of other birds, where intense crowding and confinement lead to outbreaks of #disease. They’re bred and drugged to grow so large so quickly that their legs and organs can’t keep up, making heart attacks, organ failure, and crippling leg deformities common. Many become crippled under their own weight and eventually die because they can’t reach the water nozzles. When they are only 6 or 7 weeks old, they’re crammed into cages and trucked to #slaughter. Chickens are slammed into small crates and trucked to the slaughterhouse through all weather extremes. Hundreds of millions sustain broken #wings and legs from rough handling, and millions die from the stress of the journey. At the slaughterhouse, their legs are forced into shackles, their throats are cut, and they’re immersed in scalding-hot water to remove their feathers. Because they have no federal legal protection, almost all are still
It’s time we try something new ... I mentioned that when we started this company it was to spread awareness on the animals we represent. So in the next few weeks your going to see us experimenting with different posts about the beautiful animals that if we are not careful we could lose FOREVER! #repost @wildaid with @get_repost ・・・ #tuesday Tuesday Tuesday.... sorry but you just don’t compare to Friday. @arjunanandphoto captures all our Tuesday feels and more with this beautiful #tiger photo. #tigers#tigertuesday#worthmorealive#saynotopoaching#whenthebuyingstopsthekillingcantoo
Macaws beautiful birds with vibrant almost unreal colors, unfortunately all 17 types of macaws are endangered #racingextinction, due to habit loss, hunting and trade, some are protected but still our #humankind still Trafficking and supporting this when we “buy” these beautiful creatures, many die on this process for asfixia, starvation and/or dehydration.
