Eating carbs is a most efficient way to provide fuel to body and cut out the unnecessary steps and provide adequate fuel for growth, activity..etc. (carbs). . Yeah... you always hear from the keto buffoons "add butter, its magic.  Here's coconut oil,  calories don't count" . Okay. Carbs - sugar or potato - you get an acute response from hormones.  Insulin does it's magic  and shuttles the fuel source to where it is demanded. Bigger muscles mean higher carb capacity and insulin sensitivity. !!And they are DIRECTLY related to performance!! . BUT YES YES; Once calories are fixed and basic nitrogen (protein) is met... everything  else is fair game...just keep in mind as you move further away from the "average" person to the athlete population.. insulin sensitivity... muscle mass...etc increases and well.... ๐Ÿž๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿฅ–๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿž. . Fat... is a long term STORAGE substrate.  Insulin isn't a storage hormone. It is a regulatory hormone.  Too much fat... it gets stored right up as fat. Eat in a surplus; every gram of fat in excess GETS STORED...AS FAT. Especially when it  already has enough carbs because the body will use them first.  Fat only gets stored in fat cells. Not blood. Not liver.  Not muscle. FAT CELLS.  Then gets reliberated as the body needs it. . Carbs are the bodies first  and preferred fuel source.  Dont fear them. First sesh back after the comp and it was a quick blast on the shoulders! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป . It wasn’t a long sesh only about 40 minutes as traffic this evening was crazy ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš™! I’ve been doing bits of cardio here and there, but this was my first weight session since the comp and boy it was a good one! Strength will come back gradually over the next few weeks as my macros will steadily increase, but it was still an epic sesh, the pump I got was unreal!! Wish they were this pumped on show day ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘€! . It feels good to be back at the gym, and I’m currently enjoying ‘the little things’ in life. Like the odd protein bar, and slightly different meals, and even just having a bit more freedom... like not having to drag myself to the gym to do fasted cardio in the morning. I’m still going the odd bit of fasted, but I’m doing it because I feel like doing it/ want to do it now because I need/have to do it ๐Ÿ˜Š . Also loving this new gym top from @urbangymwearofficial ! You’ll reach a point where you’ll have to focus on building muscle, which means you’ll be eating more which means you WILL gain fat (weight). Then you’ll have to lose that fat and lean out again but you’ll be heavier (due to the increased muscle), but slimmer than before this endeavor. This process may have to be repeated more than once for you to obtain that toned body. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € B). The work never stops. The journey never ends, hence the infinity sign. It's a lifestyle. You’ll stumble upon new goals and new skills.
