In Buddhism, it’s all about attention. Not only where you put it but the conscious effort to let go of attention as well. Let me repeat that, the conscious effort to let go of what’s holding your attention. Like warm yummy pizza. Let that thought go. This requires awareness. The mental effort to let go of holding your attention on what doesn’t serve you and re-focusing your attention on what does serve you, on what you wanna see manifested in your life is what I’m talking about here. This is the secret to reaching goals. ✨ Tap the link in my bio @lifeontellus to book a FREE 1:1 Food Freedom Discovery Call!✨ How do you motivate yourself to actually complete your goals? #reallifetalk#sorrynotsorry ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I try to live by the words that I speak (or write), because if not, what’s the point? To spew out words that are otherwise garbage because I fail to put them into practice, seems a little ridiculous don’t you think? But fuck, it’s not always easy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Collaborative community work has always been near and dear to my heart. I truly believe that the only way to flourish is by working together, building relationships and uniting in our shared goals and mutual aspirations. Recently, I feel I have seen a decline of this in my own work/community and have been making efforts to counter this by using voice and initiative to try to enhance partnerships by offering agencies a shared, collective space. Though my vision was bold and my intentions were good, I was slayed by people who did not think the same way that I do. People who would rather see the ineffective status quo maintained rather than try something different, rather than access support, rather than come together for our shared clients and work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And that, my friends, took me down. I am still trying to release the wounds I suffered from that incident (hi, Scorpio holding on to that shit). And, to be quite frank, I’d like to take back all the words, all the work, all the time and effort I put into it and undo it all. Because it’s easier to just “do my job”. It’s easier to “stay quiet” and “keep my head down”. It’s easier to say “fuck ‘em, they aren’t worth it”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But a few weeks ago when I posted about this, I said “we don’t have to like each other but we should want to work together, for ourselves and the people we serve”, and I continue to stand by that. So while I want to hide under covers, or use a bunch of crude words to tell those
