Friday night lights. • “You never know what’s going on with someone. Can’t take it personally” - Tami Taylor. • I really wish I didn’t take things personally. I spend most of my time overthinking all of my actions, words and thoughts that I often don’t realize what it looks like from the world’s perspective. Meanwhile there are many others who share my thoughts. Therefore it makes sense not to take it personally. Right? • #fridaynightlights #lights #justthinking #somethingtothinkabout #lookafteryourself #stillrecovering #depression #anxiety #mentalhealth #selfcare #chermside #sensitive #overthinking #dome
How it can be so simple, yet so hard. How it can be so easy, yet so complicated. How it can be so heavenly, yet sometimes like hell. So invisible, yet so strong. So strong, yet so fragile. How it can be so beautiful, yet so destroyable. ❤❤❤ Still my favourite quote, with inspiration to last for days ❤❤❤ #sunnyday #inspirational #somethingtothinkabout #whatislove #johnnycashquotes #loveit #makeyourlife #mostbeautiful #youdeserveit #believeinit #lovelife #paradise #coffeetime #ismagic #time ☕

At the end of life, what really matters is not what we bought but what we built; not what we got but what we shared; not our competence but our character; and not our success, but our significance. Live a life that matters. Live a life of love. ❤️🙌🏼 #enoughsaid there something about this #quote ❤️🙌🏼 #lovethisquote #inspiration #inspiringquote #inspiring #somethingtothinkabout #livealifeoflove ❤️😘 #thatpart #deep #thinkingmood 🤔💭 #thinkingpositive 🙏🏼 #positivevibes #positivequote #betterdays are coming #success 🙌🏼 me the other day #lovethispic 😘💋💋💋😉☺️ awww Jojo ☺️😍 #xoxo #goodnightquote #goodnight 😴 #goodnighteveryone 🌙✨ #sweetdream 💕💋
“As they returned home, after David had killed the Philistine, the women poured out of all the villages of Israel singing and dancing, welcoming King Saul with tambourines, festive songs, and lutes. In playful frolic the women sang, Saul kills by the thousand, David by the ten thousand! This made Saul angry—very angry. He took it as a personal insult. He said, “They credit David with ‘ten thousands’ and me with only ‘thousands.’ Before you know it they’ll be giving him the kingdom!” From that moment on, Saul kept his eye on David.” 1 Samuel 18:6-9 MSG. . Jealousy can be so destructive, and more towards ourselves than the person we may be harbouring the jealousy against. Are we happy and encouraged when we see fellow brothers and sisters increasing in their success, or are we secretly hoping for their downfall in hopes that we can seem to be ‘doing better’ than they, because of our unresolved insecurity? . #somethingtothinkabout #heartcheck #insecurities #jealousy #dontbelikesaul #1samuel18

Mental health and medical practitioners have long known that active involvement by the patient during the change process delivers better outcomes. Put simply, if the patient feels like they are making, or contributing to, decisions impacting on their health they tend to demonstrate a greater commitment to the process and as a by-product achieve better results. . The old model is compliance based and the new approach adopts a philosophy of adherence. While there are a few linguistic and practical differences between the two terms discussed below, here is my take on it. . “If you want clients to achieve better outcomes create epiphanies that trigger behaviour change. To do so you must learn to ask great questions or present great information that naturally guides or compels the client towards the adoption of a set of beliefs, values, or actions that are congruent with their goals. In other words, do not tell the client what to do. Help them understand why they should do it” . At a deeper level; . A compliance-based relationship is paternalistic; an adherence-based relationship is collaborative. . During compliance, the client acts passively. During adherence, they’re active. Actively making a decision (or more likely, lots of little decisions) to stay on track. . Compliances describes a client’s status at a single point in time and doesn’t acknowledge progress. Are you following the program, yes or no? . Adherence, on the other hand, is often measured as a trend. As an example, the client is training daily but occasionally still indulges in a soda. Just because the client is not compliant with what another trainer may demand of them, does not mean they are not making progress. Adherence allows you to recognise that progress. . So my challenge for you all is this. How can you present information or ask question that create epiphanies and result in behavioural changes? . #somethingtothinkabout
