She figured that any day now she was going to start feeling the simple composure of normalcy that Jane Austen's heroines always sought to maintain, the state described in those days as "countenance," and later as "being cool.
Finished this gem yesterday. Originally published in 1979, Sex and Rage tells the story of a dreamy young girl named Jacaranda who lives in Los Angeles and travels to NYC. This book felt like going on a little mini vacation, I truly LOVED it. It also helped me to take a break from reading non-fiction. If you need a break from reality, this is a great book to pick up. Enjoy loves!

Weekend cappuccino 📚✨📒💤 - My Saturday is booked! I was able to finish "Sex and Rage" by Eve Babitz. I can't wait to get my hands on "Black Swans"! If it's any similar to this novel, I shall add it to my #tbr stack.🤷🏼♀️ - Anyways, "Sex and Rage" is not just a novel about Jacaranda and her L.A. lifestyle. It's about her adventures and misfortunes throughout her life. It demonstrates how bad decisions and toxic friendships can eventually affect your well-being and mentality. Even though Jacaranda found herself getting pulled back to the glamorous parties and drugs, she eventually pulls herself back together and excels as an author. - • I'm not going to say that I loved this novel, but I did like it a lot. Why not love it? Because at some point, I found myself hating Jacaranda for being so insecure. But then again, we've all been insecure at some point in our lives. - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 - #bookish#bookworm#bibliophile#bookphotography#cappuccino#booknerdigans#bookreview#bookstagram#booksofinstagram#sexandrage#evebabitz#belletrist#booklover#april#weekend #📚
