The simple recipe for happiness 👉 more happy moments = a happier state of mind. "Neurons that fire together wire together. Mental states become neural traits. Day after day, your mind is building your brain. This is what scientists call experience-dependent neuroplasticity." - Rick Hanson 👌 The more happy moments we experience, the happier we will be overall. This is what makes gratitude journalling so powerful! Becoming happier is all about making room for happiness 😊 Happy #internationalhappinessday everyone! 😘💕
Back from the happiest place on earth to the concrete jungle and 30 degree weather (first day of spring?! 😒) and in desperate need of a detox! I love indulging when I’m on vacation, but can’t deny the fact that all the sugar, dairy, gluten, abnormal sleep schedule and taking 2 airplanes in 5 days has left me feeling a little gross 😷 so yesterday as soon as I got home, I went straight to the shower, did a full skincare routine, had a super clean lunch and just chilled out for some much needed me time ✨😌 keep reading to see how I like to detox the week after I get back from a trip! 👇🏽 • • Skincare - I close the bathroom door, turn the shower on to the hottest and let the whole bathroom steam up! This is amazing for opening pores before doing my skincare routine. I hop in the shower to get all the gross bacteria from the plane off, and then go on to my skincare ✨ 🧖🏽♀️ here’s what I use (for links, search non toxic skincare on the blog)! - cleanse with @livinglibations sea buckthorn best skin ever - exfoliate with @naturopathica cherry exfoliator - @moonfat pimple mud all over as a mask for 20 minutes then wash off with warm water - apply @cocokindskincare turmeric stick over any redness and spots that I have and leave on for 20 minutes, then remove and use @swbasics toner - apply @oneloveorganics vitamin c serum - finish off hydrating with a lot of @egyptianmagic all over and @cocokindskincare matcha stick under eyes to de-puff! Diet - - start every day with a glass of water with lemon and ACV - limit sugar to low-glycemic fruit like berries and (very little) natural sweeteners like honey (good quality honey has a lot of good-for-you minerals) and yacon syrup (low in sugar and has prebiotics) - limit caffeine to things like matcha and tea - LOTS of water 💦 - try to eat as many home-made meals as possible and no processed foods Exercise - - ease back into it with yoga or pilates - SWEAT IT OUT! Either with a hot yoga class,
Happy first day of Spring! Most of us tend to focus of the external, with “spring cleaning” our homes, desks, cars and everything in between. Maybe this spring, we can do some dusting internally. _ Let go of what doesn’t serve you: negative thoughts or self-doubt you might have about yourself, grudges you have against others and consider moving making space in your mind and forward with clarity and focus. _ Self care isn’t selfish. What better way to celebrate the Spring equinox than doing some spring cleaning of your own?
Yes! 👊💜 Happiness is contagious and if you can spread some joy today, well every day actually, DO IT. Its #internationalhappinessday and whilst I think happiness is something we should try and spread all year round, today is a great day be conscious of it. Do something that makes the people around you happy. And more importantly, do something that makes *you* happy. That cup isn't going to fill itself. I had my first reflexology session today (through @mummaswellbeing, a fab new service for #surreymums) in probably about a year. I had them throughout my pregnancy and 4th trimester and then I stopped because I didn't have time. I deprioritised myself. Not any more 😊 Check out my stories for other things that make me happy! 😍 #onemamatoanother
