Every time I long run with Jess, I have to pinch myself. Is this really happening? How can I run at this pace for this long? I’m mystified and so grateful for my body. 🙏🏼 •• 2 up, 14 at GMP, 2 down 18 at 7:34 Pinch me, and not cuz I’m without green. 😆 #saturdaylongrun#rundrunk
"May the leprechauns be near you, To spread luck along your way. And may all the Irish angels, Smile upon you St. Patrick's Day." ~ Irish Blessing • • They say everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's day, but after having my ancestry done a few months ago I found that I am actually 20% Irish! And @alantwoodruff is 80%! We're both adopted so neither of us knew. Just don't tell my Irish kin that I'm also 56% English! • • I would call this run the perfect training for the #carlsbad5000#allday20k, even though the race is in a week and I really haven't done any race specific training for it. 😙 • • The plan was just to run 8 miles, but I circled back home because I was getting warm and wanted to take off my long sleeve top. That was at 3.3 miles. I had the great idea to simulate the race, so I stopped at home, used the restroom, ate a Gu, waited about 10 minutes, then headed out for my second 3 mile leg. • • Since in the real event I plan to push a little on the second leg (my age group race), I did the same today. (If you scroll through, the watch shot is from lap 2). I got home, waited 15 minutes, then took off again. • • This time I didn't need to push it, but I didn't want to fall apart either. I kept the pace steady, though I paused long enough for the jump shot about one mile from home 😊) and finished pretty strong. 9.4 miles total on this beautiful St. Patrick's Day! • • Have you ever done four 5k races in one day? If you're celebrating tonight be careful out there!
