✨She believed she could, so she did.✨ It sounds so pretty doesn’t it? But my journey has gone a little more like this: She wanted to, but seriously doubted herself. She watched everyone else do what she really wanted to, but found every reason not to and justified it to herself. She thought it would be too hard. She thought she might fail. She thought it might be a waste of her time. Deep down she had belief in herself though, and one day got sick and tired of her own fears. She started. Tried something new. Fell in love with home workouts and superfood nutrition. Felt the best she had in years- scratch that, EVER. Fell down. Got up. Learned self love. Broke up with the scale realizing it didn’t know ish. Ate brownies and pizza and sour patch kids. Ate veggies & chicken & fruits. Enjoyed wine on date night. Found BALANCE. Found LOVE. Found JOY. Found, herself. . . If you think you have to “be perfect” and workout 3 hours a day to reach your goals, I’m here to tell you that’s just not true. Most of my workouts are 30 minutes- some an hour, but nothing more. I eat a ton of food. Some of that is squeaky clean and some of made for YOLO. Halfway through our workout program and I am pretty excited. Stepping out of my comfort zone to do a program I wouldn't normally do. But as I said before can't knock it till you try it right? Here is to the next 40! Wish me luck!
NON-SCALE VICTORY OVER HERE!!!! 🙌🏼 • A couple days ago I was FaceTiming Kevin, and I had just finished my workout so I was wearing a tank top. And he said out of no where, “Your upper body looks jacked!!” • This might sound silly to some people but nobody has EVER told me in my life that my upper body looked strong! And yes it was my boyfriend who said it haha but still! It made me feel so proud!! Talk about a confidence booster 💁🏻♀️😁 so thanks for that Kev 😊 • I have been working HARD and to see it pay off feels AMAZING! I find it fascinating to know how different people struggle with different things and how they came to reach recovery. ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ For the first time in my life, I just celebrated being sober for thirty days. I also quit coffee and started getting more active. It's been an... interesting experience. ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ A book I am currently reading (and loving) is I Forgot to Die by Khalil Rafati. ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ I used to be a party girl and my life revolved around drinking and clubbing - even during the week. Now I'm much more of a homebody who likes bubbly water and Netflix. ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ I'm also an Adult Child of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction. A lot can change in 15 weeks... • I was very hesitant to show this transformation photo because in all honesty I was embarrassed of the picture of the left. This picture is me on Dec. 2, 2017 at the start of this prep and me at my heaviest. The picture on the left is my latest update picture with my coach from this past Saturday March 17, 2018. I will be the first to admit that I am my own worst critic when it come to body image. Some people might look at the photo on the left and think they would kill to look like that but I look at that and think eww. I don’t say that for any other reason but just to say that we are all different, we all have body image issues and we all struggle with different things in life. I am still learning to love my body at all the different stages of my fitness journey. • One thing is for sure, I am extremely proud of myself for how far I have come during these 15 weeks; not only physically but more so mentally. I experienced my first string of 0 carbs days and those are brutal; they will put you to the test for how bad you actually want this. There were days (not too many) where I just cried because my emotions were all over the place and I just wanted bread! 😂 Why do it? Because I love it! I love the challenge, I love pushing myself to the edge and seeing how far I can go. Most of all I love the training part of it, bettering myself each day and reaching new PRs and feeling strong. As a women I believe we should all be strong and feel powerful. • Whether you are just starting your fitness journey or don’t even know where to start I challenge you today to do something that scares you and tell yourself your beautiful because we are all beautiful in our own way! I love both looks ❤️ I love putting heels on and doing my hair, feeling pretty and feminine. I also love taking my make up off, throwing my hair up in a messy bun and lifting heavy shit with sweat dripping down my face 💦💦 haha. Whoever says lifting heavy makes you less feminine doesn’t know.
