🌼Mindful Mondays🌼 Each Monday there will be a new post to encourage awareness of our behaviour, surroundings and environment. It helps us to live in the present moment. Enjoy! Your mindset has a huge influence on your 😊levels and how you see the 🌏. All too often we have negative thought patterns that rule our life. When we become aware of these patterns then we can 'flick the switch' from negative statements to positive ones. This week, try the ratio of 2:1. Two positives to every one negative. Every time you have a negative thought, say two positive statements to counter it. By bringing our awareness to our thought patterns we can aim to better improve them. #flicktheswitch#turnanegativeintoapositive#mindfulness#mindfulmondays#mindfulmummasnz#youarenotyourmind
The ability to motivate comes from the ability to understand. - It’s easy to help someone quit smoking, to get a patient to exercise or eat healthier, but what’s hardest is helping them stay motivated to maintain it. - As practitioners, it’s so easy for us to step into a position where we impose orders that can ignite change in the short-term, but perhaps what we need to do is take a step back and listen to the patient’s needs, wants and fears in order to help them sustain these changes in the long-term.
#mindfulness does not come easily to me... probably for most of us. Especially on days where you cbf adulting and your stuck in a pity party with only you, yourself and I invited. The inner judgement was so harsh... then I walked past my bookshelf and saw my reminder that it's #mindfulmonday. Talk about a game changer! I took a breath, anchored my feet to the floor and acknowledged that I was feeling tired and flat. I realised that beating myself for feeling as such, just took me further away from where I really wanted to be today. When my mind whinges at me today, I'll use it as a reminder that I've drifted from the present, into my head and bring myself back to my breath and back to now, where I'm allowed and am safe to just be. Mindfulness is not sitting in lotus pose or laying in shavasana with no distrations. It's about living life amongst all of its ups and downs and riding without judgement. Now I'm off to drink my big f off tea (mindfully sip by sip) and sit on the floor, surrounded my toys and washing 😂😂😂 #mumlife
Taking one minute to consciously inhale and exhale is a simple mindfulness breathing technique to calm the mind and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This one-minute wonder has a profound effect on our state of mind and can be done anytime, anywhere. #mindfulmondays#chosenexperiences
A reminder: Don’t let the little things take control of your day - Just remember, you have the steering wheel and so YOU’RE in control! Stay positive! - What helps you keep your stress and emotions in check to prevent it from taking over your day?

You’re a delicate flower.. nourish yourself and flourish. ..... Yesterday I posted this week’s #mindfulmondayswithbritt part 2 of last week’s talks about what it means to separate from your partner. .... This week I expand and clear somethings up and I talk about what it means to build a self care regime. I also speak about how it’s your job to rehab your self from pain and difficult things you’ve experienced in the past. ...... I posted this photo because this is what self-care looks like for me. I felt great yesterday. Took a chance acting for the first time, recorded my vlog, worked on @influencehers_ .... Self care is about having things you draw strength from, things that keep you in a healthy state of mind with a positive outlook on life, and doing things that bring YOU joy. Also, not looking like what you’ve been through. Exercise, meditation, and reading are some of my favorite self care activities. ..... Check out my this week’s vlog! I’m talking about all this and more. (Link in bio)❤️ .....
The shoes are off. I decided that today's walking meditation is dedicated to my first yoga teacher, Ms Giansiracusa. Y'day I found out that she had passed away 3 years ago from cancer. I was hoping to reconnect with her, and tell her I had become a yoga teacher too. She planted that seed in me. 3 years ago is when I started my yoga teacher training. As I moved in slow mo, noticing the warmth under my feet and the crunchy textures. I let my fond memories of her surface. I let the tear well up as I walked slowly in circles. Not caring about who could see me, everyone seemed to be in their own world anyway. Those memories are 15 years old or more. I realised her love of yoga lives on in me. I had been sprinkling things I remembered from her classes into my classes. And getting so much joy from sharing those moments with others. I wish I had the chance to tell her... I'll forever remember you as my first yoga teacher. You introduced me to yoga, taught me shoulder stand and also how to use a sewing machine to make pants! (She had also been my Home Economics teacher) When I smell lavender, I'll always think of you because you use to spritz the room with it before our afternoon yoga classes. I've always loved the smell of lavender because of you. . . . Tell me about a teacher that has profoundly impacted you and you only realised years down the track. Would love to hear your story. I'm planning to share two more teachers who have profoundly influenced me. Because I want to let them know, now, before it's too late. 1/3 #myteacher . . . #mindfulmondays#walkingmeditation#meditation#yogateacher#yoga#life#death#reflections#meditationchallenge
