The Stargazer, was inspired by astronomers of the Islamic Golden Age. Their contributions during that time, developed modern astronomy as we know it. • In the 8th century under Caliph al-Mamun al-Rashid, the first observatory was built in Baghdad. • The math required for astronomy was also advanced in large part by Islamic scholars. They developed spherical trigonometry and algebra, two forms of math fundamental to precise calculations of the stars. • One of Iran’s most famous astronomers Abd al-Rahman al-Sufi published The Book of Fixed Stars, one of the most comprehensive texts on constellations in the sky. He was also the first astronomer to observe the Andromeda galaxy and the Large Magellanic Cloud. • Mariam al-Astrulabi was a Syrian female astrolab maker from the 10th century. She’s best known for perfecting the art of making these instruments which calculated the altitude of celestial bodies in the sky. In her honor, astronomer Henry E. Holt named a main belt asteroid after her in 1990. • Needless to say, their discoveries changed the landscape of astronomy forever. ๐ŸŒŸ #crscntmoon

๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’• I’ll be honest... I don’t walk around with constant bags of energy, I don’t wake up feeling optimistic every day... But I’ll be damned... I’ll be damned if I allow any test, any illness, any person or any negative energy to waltz on into my life and reap havoc with my good energy and my goals. I simply won’t allow it. I can’t allow it from where I’m destined. So if I don’t wake up with bags of energy... I will think of something that feels good, put on some good music and make breakfast whilst dancing like a lunatic. If I’m not feeling so optimistic, I will hunt down all my accomplishments and all those glorified moments and I’ll beam over them and the journey, the fight it took to achieve any of it. Nothing can defeat us. Nothing at all, unless we allow it. Put on some lipstick, smile when you don’t feel like it and handle it... ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’— #serenamarijaactress #serenamarijamodel #actorslife #acting #bts #onset #film #tv #media #artist #creative #beauty #soulpoetry #writersofinstagram #london #malta #middleeast #maltesegirl #dubai #uae #hollywood #bosslady #health #wealth #hustle #mygrind #success #talent #international
Instagram vs reality. I loved everything about Byblos. Traveling is wonderful and I am so lucky to be able to do it. However right now I feel like I’m dying from food poisoning, crawled up in a bawl on the floor of Beirut airport waiting for my 3.30 am flight home- hoping I can finally keep down some fluids. Sometimes reality really sucks and we don’t get to see the hard parts of travel on instagram. And it can be hard. #dying #travelcanbehard . . . . . . . #travel #travelblogger #realtravel #travelgram #igtravel #travelstories #byblos #lebanon #jbiel #middleeast #traveller #traveladdict #getreal #real #summer #sunshine #curesforfoodpoisining #foodpoisoning #travelgirl #travelstories #travelersnotebook #sick #help #wanttogohome #home #travelpic

Bursa's greatest era of political importance was connected with the expansion of the Ottoman Empire in the early 14th century AD, although in fact Turkish settlement in the region began in the 11th century, when for a time it was conquered by the Seljuqs. The famous Moroccan traveller Ibn Battuta visited the city in 1331, just after the Ottoman takeover, and wrote of it as a great city with fine bazaars and wide streets, surrounded on all sides by gardens and running springs. For the better part of a century (until 1402), the Ottoman capital remained in Bursa; its position as the family seat explains why so many of the Ottoman royal tombs are located there. All of the 14th century Ottoman rulers are buried at Bursa, starting with Osman, the founder of the empire. Many of its buildings occupy a significant place in the history of the evolution of Ottoman architecture, such as the Ulu Camii, the main mosque of the city, built under the patronage of the Sultan Bayezid I Yildirim (1389-1402), the elegant Green mosque (constructed 1414-1424) and a number of major imperial tomb complexes. However, in 1402, Bayezid went to war with Tamerlane (the founder of the Timurid Empire), apparently in an effort to gain control of the lucrative silk route all the way to Tabriz in northern Iran. Tamerlane crushed the Ottoman army at Ankara in 1402, and the capital was moved to Edirne (formerly Adrianople) in 1413. . . . . #asia #insta #mongolia #life #middleeast #turkiye #valley #legend #epic #arrow #instagood #bookstagram #travel #trip #journey #discover #์˜ค๋Š˜ #์ด์•ผ๊ธฐ #์ธ์Šคํƒ€ #์…€์นด #์‚ฌ์ง„ #ํ•˜๋Š˜ #earth #์นœ๊ตฌ #์†Œ๋…€์‹œ๋Œ€ #์ข‹์•„์š” #๋ผ๋งˆ๋‹จ #ํ•˜๋ฃจ #์ด๋“œ #๊ท€์—ฌ์›Œ

How can the United States continue to say they are fighting for humanitarian rights, yet continue to support countries killing civilians along with America killing its fair share of civilians in the middle east. When will countries come together and demand the US leave the Middle East? When will we seen nationwide anti-war marches? . . “At least 20 people including the bride were killed when an air strike by the Saudi-led coalition hit a wedding party in northern Yemen, health officials have said. The dead were mostly women and children gathered in a tent set up for the wedding in the Bani Qayis district, according to Khaled al-Nadhri, the leading health official in the north-western Hajjah province. Hospital chief Mohammed al-Sawmali said the groom and 45 other wounded people were brought to the local al-Jomhouri hospital. Thirty of those injured were reported to be children, with some in critical condition having suffered severed limbs and shrapnel wounds. Footage that emerged from the scene of the airstrike showed scattered body parts and a young boy in a green shirt hugging a man’s lifeless body, screaming and crying. Health ministry spokesman Abdel-Hakim al-Kahlan said ambulances were initially unable to reach the site of the bombing for fear of subsequent airstrikes as the jets continued to fly overhead after the initial strike on Sunday. “We take this report very seriously and it will be fully investigated as all reports of this nature are,” a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition said.” ___________________________________________ Leave a like & comment below! ___________________________________________ Check out these pages and give them a follow! ___________________________________________ @occupy.everything @thecaptainnomad1 @media.for.us @nico_insight @redacted2night @bodypolitic2018 ___________________________________________ #syria #assad #assadregime #donaldtrump #trumpadministration #nomorewar #nosyrianwar #nowarwithsyria #republicans
