I was so moved tonight at The Regent Street Cinema. The power of a good documentary to educate, enlighten, inspire, influence, and change the world cannot be overestimated. The Last Animals is a movie everyone should see and Kate Brooks was amazing during the Q&A. Well done to the UK ban on ivory sales 2018! Why the EU is so resistant, I will never understand. Signing petitions and spreading the message is more important than ever...we don't want to be the last animals left on this planet. Delighted to see our work appreciated by our conservation partner @elephantcrisisfund. Their support is important in supporting the important work of aerial surveillance in the Kasigau Wildlife Corridor. #repost @elephantcrisisfund • • • ECF partner, @wildlifeworkscarbon, reports that poaching levels between December 2017 and January 2018, which usually see a large spike this time of year,  have decreased along the Kasigau Wildlife Corridor in Kenya. This is attributed to the constant aerial surveillance combined with the quick response of ground teams and rangers which is significantly improving elephant protection. #elephants #kenya #wildlifeworks. “Elephants love reunions. They recognize one another after years and years of separation and greet each other with wild, boisterous joy. There’s bellowing and trumpeting, ear flapping and rubbing. Trunks entwine.” ― Jennifer Richard Jacobson, Small as an Elephant ♥️🐘♥️ #saveelephants #saynotoivory #ivory #ivoryfreecanada #ivoryfree #extinctionisforever #knotonmyplanet #elephants #elephant #worthmorealive #love #motherdaughter #reunited
Beautiful 🖤🐘 #repost @vulcanproduction ・・・ Elephants have declined 50% in a decade. A female leopard in a tree at night under the stars. She has an impala in the tree that she is feeding on. She is waiting for an opening so she can jump down amongst 6 hyenas scattered around the base of the tree - hoping she will drop some of the impala - but she wants to be sure - that she does not end up as dinner either! There are nine sub-species of leopards on earth, occurring from the southern tip of South Africa's Cape mountains to the island of Java in southeast Asia. The leopard can live in true deserts, tropical forests and even in the Russian tundra where it drops to below 10 degrees celsius! The biggest threats facing leopards in Africa include the illegal skin trade, wire snare poaching and human-leopard conflict. Follow @environment.zoom for more. ••The past few months have been extremely busy for the elephants in Elephanatics ‼️ 🔹We spearheaded the #ivoryfreecanada campaign petition and letter to the Canadian Government asking to ban 🚫 the domestic trade in elephant Ivory within Canada. 🔹Over 70 media outlets published our Press Release and interviews were done on the TV and radio. We were overwhelmed and greatly appreciative of the recognition our efforts received and the obvious concern Canadians share about the poaching crisis of elephants. ✅ Click the link in our bio to finish reading our Spring 2018 Newsletter!! 🐘♥️🙏🏼 #saveelephants #extinctionisforever #ivory #ivoryfree #worthmorealive #elephant #knotonmyplanet #stoppoaching #newsletter #spring #2018 #africanelephant #asianelephant #saynotoivory
