There’s a lot of repetitional risk that surrounds environmental issues and pollutants. When companies experience an environmental loss event whether insured or not, often the event can adversely affect the company when publicized. Not reporting environmental claims out of repetitional fear is poor risk management practice and not only leads to larger losses but exposures that go under reported can lead other contractors to think the exposure is low and not worth insuring.
In a recent Aon Environmental Insurance market report you can see here a nifty graph indicating which industry groups purchase environmental coverages most often. Pretty cool I thought 💯📈 the breadth of the industry is amazing.
