The activities on offer at @ooresorts @nyungwehouse are unique, interesting and not your stereotypical touristy cultural centre experience. You need at least two nights here to stand a chance of doing our favourites - the canopy walkway, tea plantation tour and tasting, and chimpanzee tracking [in our story now]. They are so different from one another and offer such unique glimpses into forest life from beside, above and within, that we highly recommend all three for your trip. We had an absolute blast in #nyungwenationalpark and genuinely wish we’d had more time here. This beautiful hotel in its stunning location and exceptional staff were the ultimate icing on the cake. Now let’s design & book your trip so you get to follow your curiosity to this bucket list destination too... curiotrips.com/book-your-trip or hello[@]curiotrips.com #ifollowmycuriosity
“T.I.A. (This Is Africa), well #rwanda to be specific because we all know Africa is a continent full of diversity and beauty and not a country. ••• The place where my heart skips a beat when I see life unfold, quite literally, on the roadside. The country where one wave brings a million smiles. The home of hustlers working insanely hard to feed their families and put a roof over their heads. The land of strength, both inside and out. ••• It’s hard to believe at times as we drive through breathtaking landscapes dotted with tin-roof houses, farms and villages that just 24 years ago on April 7th over 1 million people were killed all over this country and over 2 million were left injured, homeless or orphaned. The history of the genocide is long, complex, twisted and full of propaganda designed to divide rather than unite. This tiny landlocked country was ripped apart on one night as neighbours turned on each other and the streets were full of death. The terror lasted 100 days, but thankfully the recovery, forgiveness and reconciliation has lasted much longer. The memories for those who lived through it will never go away, but peace at least has been found. ••• This is a country so worthy of a visit, the all-round experience it offers for wildlife photographers, landscape lovers and those looking to push their comfort zone is truly remarkable!” - Hannah, Curio Trips Founder & Director, currently in Rwanda so we know because we go. #ifollowmycuriosity πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ό
Our home in the rainforest is an eco lodge in a tea plantation. Does it get more unique than that?! Stay tuned to see more from this stunning @ooresorts hotel here and in our #rwanda highlights story. #ifollowmycuriosity
Akagera National Park is one-of-a-kind as like the country it sits in, it has been through a conservation process similar to that of the reconciliation story of #rwanda ••• The staff here have spent the better part of a decade working with guides, poachers, local communities, and the government to bring harmony and a balanced ecosystem back to the park. The process is complex and ongoing, but recently 23 lions and 18 black rhinos were able to be reintroduced thanks to programs working with poachers. It means these animals will be protected rather than hunted and Akagera National Park can proudly say it is home to the big five. Finding all of them however is a whole other issue, which we’ll share in our Instagram Story today. #ifollowmycuriosity

Happy International Women’s Day...to women who know themselves and love themselves. To women who are there for each other and lift each other up. To women who find strength and use that for good over evil. To women who are creative and their own path makers. To women who are brave and speak up. To women who define their own lives and do not simply copy others. To women who are struggling but see light at the end of the tunnel. To the women who fought before us for the rights we have today. To the women who fight now for the rights we’ll have tomorrow. To the women who shine. And of course...to the women who follow their curiosity all over the globe embracing the differences they find and the people they meet. We are a kind, strong and courageous breed, and this is without a doubt our time! But we cannot forget the men and we cannot see it as us and them, because many are supportive, loving and standing right there by our sides ••• Sign up to Follow Your Curiosity now [link in profile] to read the story of our fierce, travel-obsessed female founder, direct to your inbox this afternoon... #ifollowmycuriosity this #internationalwomensday

If you followed our Instagram story last week you know that this weekend we’re venturing back to Africa to showcase our second very exciting destination for Purposeful Trips... RWANDA! ••• This tiny country in east Africa is most known for its horrific 1994 genocide of an estimated 1 million people in 100 days, but it has done a remarkable amount of work since to unite the country and promote its best qualities. One of which is this Purposeful Trips travel bucket list experience ranked as the best wildlife encounter on the planet...gorilla trekking in the wild!!! With less than a thousand mountain gorillas remaining in only two countries in the world, this truly is a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience not to be missed! ••• Named the “land of a thousand hills,” we absolutely cannot wait to share this beautiful country full of rainforests, national parks, volcanoes, safari reserves and wonderful people, live from Africa next week. #ifollowmycuriosity to #remarkablerwanda πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ό πŸ“·: Richard Denyer
Happy #holi, the Hindu festival of colour celebrated in #india in the brightest and most fun way. It signifies the arrival of spring, the triumph of good over evil, and the ability to forgive and forget. What a beautiful day 🌈 #ifollowmycuriosity

#tbt to three weeks ago when our Founder & Director Hannah was exploring the epic landscapes of @zionnps. Her mission was to switch off from work, social media, her phone and laptop. “It was a difficult task at first but soon the beauty and awe of the national parks drew me in to the present moment. I found myself really feeling still and soaking it all in. I was shocked at the thoughts that would flood in that weren’t business and life logistics and I left inspired and more creative for the year ahead. My vision for Curio Trips this year became clearer the less I focused on it. In fact everything did.” If a digital detox and reconnect are what you need this year, check out our favourite national park trips through the [link in profile]. #ifollowmycuriosity

Happy Lunar New Year, welcome to the year of the dog! Want to see what celebrations look like in China right about now? Swipe left for more. #ifollowmycuriosity
How could we not throw it back to spending last Chinese New Year in Beijing, China πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ It was an incredibly interesting, busy and fun time to be there, even with the culture shock that started at the airport. We joined the crowds of revellers celebrating in the streets, hiked the Great Wall of China, devoured Peking duck and dumplings, and relaxed at the chic city @rosewoodbeijing @rosewoodhotels. Travelling to a new destination when they are at the height of national celebrations is one of the happiest times to explore a place, so tomorrow as we welcome the year of the dog we will share New Year pics from our trip. Be warned, there will be a lot of red and pink! #ifollowmycuriosity to the other side of the planet, do you?
Happy day of love, we hope it brings you love from afar and love from within ❀️ And we want to hear from you, tell us where you would LOVE to travel in 2018 in the comments below? #ifollowmycuriosity
