I consider a day like this as an official Happy New Year for me. Yes it is the DaySlayerHimself birthday 🙌😂🎂💪. People don't know this but I live by a  code. Another thing people don't know is that I make promises to myself. Promises that I keep and intend to keep for the rest of my life. One of those key promises I have made to myself, is the promise to set up goals. Implement a plan of attack, then execute that plan of attack, to get to that goal. Putting in the due work, and sacrifice needed to get to the next level.  This has helped me tremendously through out my entire life. This applies to every aspect of my life. I do all this In order to not live with regret. Because for me, that can be one of the worst things to live with. Years come and go, before you know it you never executed a plan, just spoke about it. Leading you to live a life of regret . You wanted to do this, I wanted to do that. But now your 80 years old, and it's too late. . 👂Listen to me carefully. If you are reading this, you are young enough to execute. No more talking, no more doubting, create a plan of attack, and attack that goal. Be relentless, persevere, and put in all the work necessary. If you fail and you put in your all. That's ok, dust yourself off, tweak your plan accordingly, and attack again. In the process we keep growing, ever evolving, which makes it a win either way. At the end of it all, we will look back and say. Maybe I accomplished it, maybe I didn't. But one thing we'll know for sure is that we did what had to be done, we tried the best we could. DEADLIFTS 🏅🏅🏅 If you've never done a deadlift before I would suggest first taking a look at my posts on hip hinge movement patterns. If you are familiar with hip hinges but need some advice for proper deadlift form than this post is for you. 🏅🏅🏅 To start the deadlift we have to look at foot position first in relation to the body then in relation to the bar. In this video I am doing a conventional deadlift which requires a narrow stance. I keep my feet hip width apart if not a little closer. I step into the bar so that the bar sits directly over the middle of my foot. This position will allow me to lower my hips without the risk of getting my knees in the way. Once my feet are in position it's time to lower your hips and grab the bar. Your hips should go back and down similar to the hip hinge in the stiff leg deadlift I have demonstrated in the past only you will need to be closer to the ground which mean more knee flexion. Grab the bar just outside of your legs (I mean literally JUST outside) you want everything very compact here. There are several different grips you can use here. I am using an overhand grip which isn't the best for grip strength but I use straps when I lift heavy so it's not something I really worry about. Next thing you want to do is flare your lats. You'll do this by pretending you are squeezing a ball in your armpit. This is going to create shoulder and upper back stabilization. Make sure that your lower back is not curving ( this will happen if your hips are too low) and that your neck is in a neutral position. Drive through your heels and push your hips forward until your spine is neutral. Do not push through creating an anterior pelvic tilt.
