Gettin ready, gettin set n griiippin life by the cajoñes.💃🏻🤙🏼🦅 . . It’s been a long coming, I guess you could say, me, becoming, more myself. You can’t force change. You can’t force healing. You can’t force the undoing of unwanted past mistakes. Just like you can’t force comprehension, adjustments, emotions, connections, relationships, support, and all the other metaphorical mumbo-jumbo I could get into.. you get the jist. . I’d say, as far as I’m concern- looking back from the last year- I’m handling this whole ‘adult’ thing, pretty damn well, if you ask me. I’m happy with the progress and determination I continue to see within myself, no matter how many countless days I just want to jump ship and make water angels as I drift to an unknown island throughout the deep sea. I’m continuously finding my own, and everyday is a new day, where I can do it all over again. . I’m always grateful no matter what I’m going through. To be heard, right? Especially when something is important to you. Parents-do you sometimes not feel heard? Kids-do you sometimes not feel heard? When you feel your chest tightening up and your face getting hot-these are physical signs of frustration or anger. Listen to your body and when this happens, think, ‘I’m getting frustrated. What can I do about it other than yell?’ Maybe take a deep breath, take a time out away from what’s frustrating you, then find a way to communicate calmly and ask the other person to do the same. We all have a choice on how we react. Yelling or being yelled at is no fun. It’s never too late to improve in our communication. It’s important to be heard and at the same time to feel peaceful.
