Alkalize, hydrate and alkalize. I’m on day 3 of a green juice fast- which means I’m only drinking green juice until I don’t feel like it drinking green juice no more. No solid or cooked foods. Just liquid gold hydrating and alkalizing all my cells and it’s feeling so good. A few days ago I started to feel a little run down and could feel my sinuses start to plug up. I knew a head cold/sinusitis was coming on and it did. It’s here doing its thing. But man does it feel good to know I’m pumping my body with this goodness! You’ve likely all heard me taking or read me talking about acidity in the body. Foods like meat, dairy, processed foods, junk foods all have an acidic response in the body. This isn’t good. An acidic diet means that your body is also acidic and oxygen-deprived. And an acidic oxygen deprived body develops symptoms like the colds, flu, physically run down, stress, lethargy, inflammation. This is our initial warning sign. The bells that we need to listen to and the time to start looking deeper. But if we don’t, and most of us don’t- most of us will take some meds and suppress the symptoms so they go away for now and we’ll think we’ve beat it when we start to feel better. But in actual fact, you’ve just made it worse. Instead of allowing the body to eliminate stagnant and toxic waste, you’ve suppressed its natural response and only exacerbated the problem. So in a few weeks or months these same symptoms will resurface or they will be worse and you’ll go to the doctor for that now too. Here’s the thing- all living cells need oxygen to survive. Our body’s are made up of about a trillion cells- all needing oxygen and nutrients to keep us alive and well. But when we take hat oxygen away- what happens? If you think of what happens to a person when they have a stroke- the brains oxygen supply is cut off and brain cells die. Out body works much in the same way.
