A big rainstorm is moving into SoCal, and burn areas have been warned to expect flooding. The rain first hit the northern part of the region in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties early Tuesday morning. As you can see in this forecast from @abc7dallas, it will get heavier on Wednesday and the heaviest downpours are likely Thursday. The rain is expected to continue until early Friday morning. Mandatory evacuation orders went into effect Tuesday for parts of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Details at the link in our profile. Share your weather photos and videos with #abc7eyewitness.
Teams of SBSO deputies started early this morning and continue to conduct door-to-door Mandatory Evacuation Order notifications in the Extreme Risk areas. Based on the contacts made so far, it appears the vast majority of residents are taking this evacuation order seriously. We know evacuations are disruptive but they are potentially life-saving and we appreciate your continued cooperation. www.readysbc.org #sbsheriff#stormwatch#santabarbara#montecito#evacuation#805strong
