As a photographer I do my own styling as well as art direction. I know not all photographers do this but I love this part of my process. It helps me set the story that I have in my mind. This is from a part of a much bigger set for a couture visual story.
The snow is causing much debate it seems ❄😁 But here's another perspective; what would happen if you embraced today for just being what it is? We can spend all day (or week or all our lives in fact) fighting against what is in front of us. We can spend the day looking out of the window, feeling miserable that it isn't yet sunshine, flowers & flip flops. (And I love that weather as much as anyone else! 🌞) The weather cannot ruin our day! We have the choice of how we respond to what is going on around us. And this goes for anything happening in life. It was one of my biggest learning points, growing up with a Father who only ever looked for the worst and spotted the negative in everything. And changing my outlook on things has changed everything and improved my life massively! Living a more positive life doesn't mean ignoring how you feel about things - you might just hate snow no matter what! But it's about choosing to sit on the fence a bit with things sometimes and look at them from both sides. And it's about realising that you have the choice and the power to look for something good in every situation, that might usually rile you up! We are all works in progress...but changing my thoughts in my early 20s has absolutely changed my life 💛 p.s. This photo is from the last snow - we are currently all in PJs!
I’m so not up for this but I am attempting to embrace the strangeness of a snowy should be spring day the best I can. Hope you are able to get cosy or sledging as well, and aren’t missing out on too much else.
Happy Sunday 🌿 I’ve got a new interiors blog post up today sharing some home styling tips with the new Greenhouse range from @amaraliving - it’s all so gorgeous and I’m pretty pleased with the pictures in this one so click the link in my bio to read! My bed does not currently look this neat as I’m actually still in it and there are two cats lying on top of me and one of them just mistook my plait for a toy #instagramvsreality
