"I failed you. I wish there were another way for me to say it. I cannot. I can only beg your forgiveness, and pray you hear me somehow, someplace... someplace where a warm hand waits for mine." Today's BTAS episode is from season 1, the 3rd air and 14th produced, titled "Heart of Ice". Anyone who is a fan of this show, knows this episode. It is easily regarded as one of the best for its recreation of Freeze's origin story and the way you sympathize with Victor. Everything about it is great, the voice acting (especially Freeze) the animation, music, it all adds to the over all somber tone this episode has. I don't even want to summarize it. As I think everyone deserves to watch it on their own, if there are people out there who haven't already. Batman the Animated Series was great at making villains feel human, and help us see, maybe they have a point..to what the are doing. No episode, besides maybe "Feat of Clay", does this as perfectly as "Heart of Ice". In fact Bruce Timm and Paul Dini were so content with this episode they didn't even want to use Freeze in an episode for fear of tainting "Heart of Ice" but they eventually did, and no way was this episode made lesser in our eyes.
