As I make my way to bed tonight I'll be calling in the goddess to hold me tomorrow as I guide a courageous group of women to meet their unlimited, amazing selves by first meeting their shadow and coming face to face with the dark goddess. This work is not easy, but it's so important. Acceptance of all parts of ourselves is vital if we are to live authentically and access our true power. I am so honoured to bring this work to the world and so grateful to the women who are taking this journey with me. I honour you 💜💜💜 @lililight1 Recognise this scene?!
As soon as we accept that it is not the responsibility of another person to make us feel whole, we free ourselves from a constant pattern of giving away our true power. The kind of power that releases us from a lifetime of waiting for someone else to tell us that we are ‘enough’. The kind of power that allows us to honour ourselves, yet be able to share joyful moments and experiences with others without fear of them not providing the reassurance we want in order to feel worthy. We can spend our life seeking that from others but the truth is, there is only going to be one person who can get to the core of this.... and that person is you. Be your own lover. Be your own best friend. The ripple of magic this creates in your relationship with yourself and others... is one of the greatest gift of all. 🖤

How would your life look if you considered every single day as an opportunity to make love? Of course, making love is usually associated with sex and intimacy with a partner, but when i think about it more, making love is actually about creating a life based on the most powerful emotion that we can experience. Love. When we operate from a place of love, even when doing things that we resent doing, it can totally shift the energy of that action. What would love do in that situation? How would love act? Can you pour love into yourself during everyday things like brushing your hair, washing up, making yourself breakfast? Imagine if we could bathe ourselves all day in little ways that symbolise our ability to make love for ourselves. What does making love mean to you? Is it lighting a candle and watching the flame flicker while you work at your desk? Is it taking time to sprinkle gratitude over your meals before diving in? Is it touching a part of your body that deserves some kindness? Is it taking a breath before reacting to someone who cut you up in the car? Imagine how you could feel if today’s intention was to simply make love... just for today... ❤️
" Yet it is this dual rhythm, this “two-sided” nature that most essentially characterizes the Great Goddess: life and death are two parts of the same whole picture, with little more than a revolving door in between. She is the Tao (pronounced “dao”), symbolized by a circle with two fish-like images swimming around and meeting eye to eye, one black and one white, each with the opposite color as its eye. (fig. 8) This is a stylized representation of the “Two-In-One,” the pregnant Great Mother with her capacity of giving birth to twins, both male and female, dark and light, which contain within themselves the seed of the other. These two aspects exist eternally in perpetual motion, one turning into the other in the ceaseless eternal return that expresses life on earth. In the absolute sense, it doesn't matter which side we're on at any given time; they're equal. We need not fear. The Goddess holds us in and is the whole, and we go back and forth between the two states; it is the function of her double priestesses to facilitate these transitions. . . . "Every human is born from a woman. And so, in a society ruled by the council of older women meeting at night in the moonlight after the day's work is done... And, as among the American Iroquois, even the male was chief, or chief of hunting, was not free to make his own "specialist" decisions about life & death. He was bound to abide by the decisions of the council of women, the mothers of life & death." - Monica Sjoo & Barbara Mor in the "Great Cosmic Mother - Rediscovering the Religion of the Earth" Styling and Make Up by: Makeda Voletta Photographer: @hunt4photos Philly, 2009 #therenaissanceamazon#amazon#darkgoddess#sekhmet#oya#pele#queenlionesss#afroindigenous#afroseminole#harlemgirl#floridaroots#naturalhair#locs
