Good morning. I went to a networking thing last night. I didn’t feel like drinking but I did leave ten minutes early so I could run up the hill to Bettys for a beautiful buttery biscuit with jam, to devour with a herbal tea when I got home.. as a reward for leaving the house and actually talking face to face with fellow humans. A little insight into how my mind works… don’t worry I won’t share too much! ________ Also today, I’m ordering samples for the print subscription I’m launching soon. Excited but nervous as always. Then I’m getting on the yoga mat. Then I’ll probably write a blog post which I’ve neglected again. Probably paint some flowers too at some point. Pea & mint soup is for lunch. ______ Also I’m changing how I share my work here, I’m going to be posting more up close pictures of my work. I’ve been feeling restricted by the not so great light & limited space and enough is enough. I’m not a lifestyle photographer or blogger, I’m an artist and I want to share the colours, lines & shapes I’ve been painting of late! ____ Hope you have a great day. It’s Friyay :)
“On Fridays in Sweden, most people have what we call ‘Fredag’s Mys’. My husband and I always eat shrimp or crayfish and have a glass of wine. When our children were young, we popped popcorn with them. My grandchildren have tacos, that’s popular today. Of course we light candles. It’s about sharing a nice moment, creating a good feeling for all at the end of the week. But is this special to Sweden?”
• we celebrated Leonard turning forty this week with cake, balloons, a lunch date and an evening trip to the shore at Oscars request, where we toasted the tiniest marshmallows and watched the waves from the warmth of our blankets. it’s that part of the evening that I’ll remember most. funny isn’t it, how the things that cost nothing are the most special of all ❤️ #alifemorebeautifullylived#awhisperedbeauty •
So many first times happen after you give birth. Today I saw the sun rise for the first time. I was eager for Emma to wake up and show her the sea with its beautiful colors. Of course, she was then mostly annoyed by the sunlight and interest in the rocks beneath us 😅❤️ #littlemomentsofmylife#dietroadognifotounastoria
Working on a beautiful, exciting project at the moment that’s had its testing moments so, as always, I have to remember to feel my feet on the ground, drink tea, and smell the roses. And what amazing smelling roses they are - @therealflowerco are like no other, filling the house with their incredible, natural fragrance. This isn’t an ad - I just ❤️ everything about them, especially on a rainy London morning.
Looking back on lighter days as today is the start of a few days which are technically good for gardeners, and ducks. I’ve got a lot of work to catch up on today, not even sure where to start, if anyone wants me i will be permanently attached to a cup of tea for the next few hours in an attempt to wake up! Who has actually got the Fri-yay feels today?!
Adventures in adulting... . . I turned the ripe old age of 27 last week and since then all I’ve noticed is just how much more ‘adult’ I seem to have become over the last couple of years. Instead of looking forward to a wild Friday night out, tonight we’re going to head to the pub with an armful of guidebooks and indulge in some not so spontaneous holiday planning. Tomorrow will be wilder in one sense of the word as we’re heading to the garden centre to stock up on plants for the garden. Then at some point I’m planning to finish off this Spring wreath that I made a start on this week! . . If I’m honest, I’m quite enjoying the mix of spontaneity and adult that the late twenties brings. I love that one weekend I can be out drinking in the afternoon, commitment free, and the next I can be potting plants in the garden. I think the late twenties is my happiest place yet... Are you embracing adulting? #thisdelightfullife
