Prayer is an offering up of our desires unto God, for things agreeable to his will, in the name of Christ, with confession of our sins, and thankful acknowledgment of his mercies (Westminister Shorter Catechism), all of which help us live a more surrendered life. It reminds me of Paul's encouragement to the Thessalonians when he wrote, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (5:16-18).⠀ ⠀ ep. 43 | prayer | @valmariepaper
So ready to head out and get some sun & rest! I managed to somehow finish all homework and work this past week (on time lol). I prayed to be more disciplined this week and put those prayers into action. Did I fail in some of those entended actions? Ofcourse! But y’all, I have to remind myself to do my part too. The effort counts as something. Thankfully He is so relational with us and understands our desires and needs. Yay to weekends & essentials! Hope you guys have a sweet blessed Saturday! 🙏🏽
My favorite part of ballet was picking multi coloured start fish off rocks on the ocean floor and collecting starts from the sky in an old church hall. It was imaginative and I loved that. I remember having to peel our feet of the floor like banana peels and almost being able to see feet as bananas for the rest of the lesson. Ballet had that whimsical quality that spoke to my heart. It also however had this other quality, which was less than imaginative because unfortunately it was not about picking up the starts it was about how you picked up the starts and that was somewhat problematic for a child with the coordination of newborn giraffe. Therefore, I ended up literally being the clown in our ballet production. My best friend was a doll and I was a clown. In hindsight, I think this is actually absolutely adorable but at the time it made me sad. I was a sad clown. I hope your Saturday is sweet! Romans 3:19-26 English Standard Version (ESV) 19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For by works of the law no human being[a] will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. The Righteousness of God Through Faith 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Footnotes: Romans 3:20 Greek flesh Psalm 106:6-15 English Standard Version (ESV) 6 Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. 7 Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. 8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make known his mighty power. 9 He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry, and he led them through the deep as through a desert. 10 So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy. 11 And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left. 12 Then they believed his words; they sang his praise. 13 But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel. 14 But they had a wanton craving in
Physical ailments. I slept for the longest time and woke up to a beautiful download and realisation that I was called to share with you 💛 The very first step to self-healing the physical body is ACCEPTING the ailment – with unconditional love, respect & gratitude. Diseases and illnesses are conscious manifestations of us asking to be guided in life. Yes, your ailments were created by you to help you, serve you, push you towards healing -> I mean Healing of spirit, beyond the physicality. ~ Ailments, just like people, are wise wise teachers. So the first step to healing, is starting to converse with your illness, allowing it to tell you, what it is here to teach you. Your illness has the best intentions. ~ Befriend your illness, romance your illness. Acknowledge it’s power, show your respect. Stop resisting it. We all know what happens when we resist things. Invite your illness for a cup of tea, look it lovingly straight in the eye and talk to it: I SEE YOU I SEE AND RECOGNIZE YOUR POWER & YOUR BEAUTY. I RESPECT YOU. I ACCEPT YOU UNCONDITIONALLY. I’M SORRY FOR RESISTING YOU FOR SO LONG & WANTING YOU GONE. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PART OF ME. WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND? Now THAT is powerful. Feel the instant shift happening within you. Feel your illness softening, uttering a sigh of relief - it has, finally, achieved it’s goal - it’s seen, it doesnt have to act out anymore in order to draw your attention, to prove to you how much power it has and how much it can affect the quality of your life. This is the beginning of sustainable healing. You have suffered enough, NOW is the time where we start our collective healing journey. Finally 🙏🏻 Have a beautiful self-care Saturday, love you 💛 . . . . . . . . . . #selfcaresaturday#goodmorning#healing#illness#weekend#saturday#inspiration#gratitude#lawofattraction#quotes#motivation#sacredfeminine#meditation#girlboss#queen#selfcare#bossbabe
These two cooking together. This is one of my most favorite things. Having a dad who is so patient and actually shows her how to make pizza from scratch, was not my reality as a child. I'm so thankful I waited for a man who is all that and so much more to our kids...but also to me.💕 Happy weekend everyone.
I was reasoning with someone recently who was doubting another woman's ability to be a teacher and influencer in her field because of her young age. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Whilst I understood the sentiment of their frustration, I couldn't agree with this line of reasoning as I would be dishonouring my own wisdom. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is no worldly marker for womanhood; not menses, marriage, education, age, or otherwise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sometimes we can feel threatened by another person ability to find the lessons and principles in life and use that skill to guide others if we have felt trapped and confused for a long time. We can begin to doubt our own abilities to find within us what we think we are witnessing in others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - As we cycle through life, transitioning, revisiting and overlapping the experiences which beget wisdom, we continue to have within us ALL, all of the potentials of woman, all 👏🏽 of 👏🏽 the 👏🏽 time. ⠀ - Never allow anyone to belittle or judge you or another woman based on worldly markers. No one knows your station in the spirit. ❤
