Spring is finally here, and for me, that means a lot more outdoor work. In addition to furniture, we build a lot of decks. Here is the initial work on what will be a ramp to assist those with mobility disability at a residence. While they are a little tricky to make level, I have grown quite fond of ramps over stairs when the space allows for it. I especially love the simple and almost architectural lines at this stage of this particular build. Most of the posts have been cut to height, and when the decking is finished on the ramp, we will start in on the railing. But for now, this has me thinking of building gently sloping ramps without railing onto my own deck at home. 🤔
Another artistic impression of what the library I work in was supposed to look like. Love that it’s done in pencil crayon and watercolours, and not a computer rendering. Guess they just didn’t have that at their fingertips back in the late eighties.
