It’s #monslay, my favourite day of the week!💓⠀ ⠀ I start every Monday morning by taking 15 minutes (and a large cup of java) to write down 5 things I am grateful for, the goals I want to crush that week, and the steps I will take if Cruella Deville comes knocking telling me that I can’t achieve the things I want. I always walk away from these 15 minutes in a positive mindset, feeling motivated, and knowing that I can handle anything that comes my way! ✨⠀ ⠀ Do you love Mondays too? Do you start them off with a ritual or practice? I’d love to hear what helps get you motivated! //📷: Pinterest
This week we are so excited to feature blogging beauty Lauren as a Savvy Sister. Read more about this gorgeous boss babe below! ⠀ ⠀ Keen to get into the beauty Industry, Lauren moved to Vancouver at age of 16 to begin the Professional Esthetics program at Blanche Macdonald. Upon graduating, she knew that she wanted to be on the corporate end of the beauty industry. As beauty and fashion go hand-in-hand, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a degree in fashion marketing. Before her classes at The Art Institute of California began, she started her blog LaurensLipGlossary.com. This was a place where Lauren could share her passion for all things beauty and style while connecting with others. Her blog was simply a passion project she would work on when she had time off from school. While she was studying, she was also working at a cosmetic company directing online content. As her blog continued to grow, it became difficult to manage school and work at the same time. Lauren decided to drop out of school, quit her job and pursue blogging full time. She is now back in Vancouver, creating content for her blog full time from her office in Yaletown.⠀ ⠀ 5 facts about me:⠀ 1. I could not survive without my assistant Lauren... Yes, we have the same name! @l.gbeauty is a makeup artist, social media guru, and helps me keep it all together.⠀ 2. Beauty and fashion have been a part of my life from a young age. Playing dress-up and having “spa nights” were two of my favourite things to do!⠀ 3. @BambiandMilo are literally my whole world. I have not idea how I went without having fur babies for so many years!⠀ 4. I’m super spiritual! Crystals, energy healing, and meditation are a big part of my life. I currently have my level 1 Reiki certification and want to get my level 2 soon. ⠀ 5. 8 years ago, I found out I was allergic to both gluten and dairy. On my blog, you’ll also find recipes, restaurant reviews, and tips on being GF/DF!⠀ Tips from me: When I
C E L E B R A T E ⠀ ⠀ Every Friday I like to take a minute to reflect on the past week’s success and celebrate all that I accomplished in the last 5 days. Today I’m celebrating a little extra because it’s been an AH-MAZING week here at AK/VA! I signed on 2 new clients, booked 4 consultation calls for next week, and received not one, but two guest speaking requests!! 💕 So, to celebrate I’m spending this afternoon sipping wine in the sunshine (with my laptop of course 😉)! I’d love to hear what wins and accomplishments you are celebrating this week! Add them in the comments 👇🏻 so we can congratulate and support each other! 🎉🥂⠀ ⠀ // 📷: Pinterest
You have the tools within you to achieve your dreams and build a life you love! Being an entrepreneur brings great days and challenging days. On those challenging days, when you doubt yourself, when you wonder am I on the right path, can I do this, will it get easier, stop and repeat these affirmations.⠀ 💓 I have purpose. ⠀ 💓 This is my destiny.⠀ 💓 I am significant.⠀ 💓 I am strong.⠀ 💓 I am valuable. ⠀ ⠀ Let the power of these positive affirmations strengthen your belief in your self and your goals, and remind you of how incredible you are! ✨ 📷: Pinterest
Oh hey there! 👋🏻 ⠀ ⠀ It’s been far too long since I popped on here and introduced myself, so here I am! My name is Ash Kay, and I am the founder of AK Virtual Assistant Services.⠀ ⠀ I started AK/VA just under a year ago because I love to get the job done! My goal is to support entrepreneurs with the day to day “mundane”, “stress-inducing”, “time-sucking” tasks, so that they can focus on the things they love as well as their business’ growth and success! ✨ ⠀ ⠀ I am passionate about offering valuable Virtual Assistant Services and always providing my clients with an exceptional experience. Along with my passion comes a great deal of education and experience. I have a Bachelor of Business Degree in Management, over 10 years of experience in Administration, and have owned my own Wedding Planning business for the past 5 years.🥂⠀ ⠀ As I navigate my way through owning a Virtual Assistant business I am moving away from what others think I “should” do and towards a business that aligns with my values, my message, and the way I believe my clients want to be supported. What will always remain a core value is staying true to who I am and to the exceptional service I want to deliver! ❤️⠀ ⠀ So what do I do? I offer a variety of services in the following areas:⠀ 👩🏻‍💻 Administration (database management to client communications to bookkeeping and beyond. If it falls under “Admin”, I likely handle it.)⠀ 💕 Social Media Management (posting, response management and community engagement)⠀ 🥂 Event Coordination (from event promotion to RSVP and vendor coordination, to day of assistance) ⠀ ⠀ Whether you’ve been following AK/VA’s journey since the beginning, or if you’re just joining now, thank you, thank you, thank you your support means the world to me! ⠀ If you’re looking for support with your business please feel free to DM me, I would love to setup a time to talk so I can learn more about
Tuesday Tip: practice gratitude 💕. The secret to having it all is knowing that you already do! ⠀ ⠀ @lunchwithmaria recently shared a great tip on how to stop and reflect on what we are grateful for....keep a gratitude journal and write in it every morning and evening! ✨
It took years and years of dedication, hard work, patience, and a commitment to a vision for Rome to become the legendary place it is today. Your business is no different! ⠀ ⠀ As an entrepreneur I know it’s easy to become discouraged. To have moments where you wonder why your business isn’t growing as fast as your competitors, why you’re hitting roadblocks, and why your vision isn’t materializing instantly. ⠀ ⠀ The answer? Stay the course!! A business requires a strong foundation to succeed and that means you have got a ton of bricks to stack. So each day commit to one brick, commit to taking one more step forward. You may have to redesign your foundation along the way, and that’s ok. Adjust, but don’t stop. ⠀ ⠀ Before you know it you’ll have built your very own Colosseum! ✨
This week’s Savvy sister is our East Coast homegirl Erin! Erin is one of the most genuinely awesome boss babes we know! She owns @erinelizabethcakes, a cake and baked goods company. What sets her a part? She truly cares about each and every one of her clients, and always goes above and beyond to make their vision come to life! Not only do her cakes and baked goods look amazing, they taste unreal too! More from Erin 👇🏻 ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ I’ve been baking ever since I was a little girl. If I wasn’t learning how to flip pancakes with my dad, I was baking cakes & cookies with my mom and grandmother. I remember most weekends revolved around being in the kitchen spending time together. ⠀ ⠀ I went to culinary school but quickly learned the restaurant industry just wasn’t for me. I’ve always loved to draw so going into cake decorating was the perfect combination. Pairing my love of art and baked goods! The look on a clients face when they see their vision come to life in what you have created for them is the best feeling! Especially when it’s for kids, they are the most honest and when they love it you know you’ve done your job. ⠀ ⠀ I moved to Vancouver a little over 3 years ago now from New Brunswick to take my career to the next level. Moving across country by myself and not knowing anyone was one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done. You never truly get to know yourself until you push out of your comfort zone and take risks. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 5 Facts:⠀ ⠀ 1. When I was a kid my biggest dream was to be a cartoonist for Disney.⠀ 2. I’m a huge animal lover. Volunteered at the SPCA for a number of years.⠀ 3. I’m an only child, my parents are my best friends and the driving force that pushes me to be the best I can be.⠀ 4. As much as I love the city I’m a small town country girl at heart.⠀ 5. I LOVE a good Rose!
Blue skies + sunshine, Spring is that you? ☀️🌷
Visionaries. Queens.⠀ Friends.⠀ Mothers.⠀ Daughters.⠀ Sisters. Leaders.⠀ Heroes. We are WOMEN! ⠀ ~⠀ Happy International Women’s Day to all of you incredible women out there! Today, and everyday, may you be reminded of how strong, powerful, and amazing you are! 💕
A team is a gift! From employees, colleagues and networking groups to friends and family, our teams are our support systems. They inspire us, they motivate us, they challenge us, they lift us up, and they help us succeed! ⠀ ⠀ Honestly, AK/VA wouldn’t exist without the amazing team we have! I am so grateful to everyone that helps keep this machine running and lends their support each day. Y’all are my lifesavers!! ⠀ ⠀ Have you thanked your team lately? There is no time like the present! We’re not saying go spend 100 bucks every time you want to say thanks, but let them know how much their support, dedication, and hard work is appreciated in a meaningful way. Maybe write them a small note or thank them in front of a group. A little thanks can go a long long way!✨ #tiptuesday
Wake up with the mentality that you can slay everyday! Sure there will be hiccups, mistakes, and roadblocks but if you do your very best each and every day you will set yourself up for success! ✨ // 📷: Pinterest

I am raising a glass of vino in Tuscany, to celebrate this week’s Savvy Sister Dani. Dani is a Holistic Nutrition Coach and the owner of @newgrowthwellness, whose passion for helping others achieve their goals is truly inspirational. I feel so lucky to call her a fellow badass boss babe and friend. She is one of the most caring, supportive, and kind people I know. Girl, you are one of a kind❤️. And guess what...today is Dani’s 30th birthday!!⠀ Cheers to you babe and to the remarkable woman and entrepreneur that you are! Read more from Dani 👇🏻. ⠀ ⠀ “After graduating university and working in the financial industry for over 2 years, I knew something was missing in my life. I knew there had to be more joy, freedom, and laughter. So, I made the terrifying decision to quit my job and travel with my husband to South America for a whole year. It was on this journey that I discovered my true connection to not only myself but the way I nourished my body with real food. I came home with a whole new view of the world and a clarity about what I was put here on this planet for. I knew I had to take everything I learned and help others simplify their health and learn to eat in a nourishing and energizing way.⠀ ⠀ Although, I help my clients rock any health goals they may have, I’m especially passionate about helping women kick sugar to the curb so they can get back to feeling energized, light, and healthy every single day! As a sugar addict myself, I know just how powerful and life changing the journey can be - and how difficult it can be doing it alone. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve been on the crazy journey of entrepreneurship for 2 years now and I wouldn’t change a thing. Challenging, emotional, exciting, heart pounding, uplifting….I’ve learned more about myself than I ever could have imagined. I’m so blessed to be able to make such a huge difference in the lives of everyone around me.⠀ ⠀ Wherever you are, whatever you do, follow your dreams and
Design your own path! ⠀ Let’s be honest, being an entrepreneur can be life-consuming. When the times are good they’re great, and when the times are bad they’re terrible. But the best part of being an entrepreneur is that you get to create and run a business in whatever way YOU want! Which also means that that business allows you to design a life on your own terms. ⠀ ⠀ Take me for example, this incredible entrepreneurial ride has just landed me in Cinque Terre, Italy. A place that has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. ⠀ ⠀ You could be here too, or in Dubai, or in the house and car of your dreams, or with the thing you want the most! All it takes is the belief in your self, the trust that you’ve got this, and hard work...lots of hard work! So go, do all the incredible things because you can! ✨
Find your passion and pursue it relentlessly! ✨
Is your website optimized for mobile?!⠀ ⠀ As of December 2017, more than HALF of global internet traffic came from mobile users not desktops, and the number has only risen since then! Whether you should optimize your site or not depends upon your customer base and product/service, but if you’re asking us all websites should be optimized for mobile. ⠀ ⠀ First, check your Google Analytics and determine how much of your website traffic is mobile. As a general rule of thumb if
