Today and everyday, don’t forget to take a breather. Why did I just learn how to breath correctly a year ago 😑🙄 Lol they don’t teach this human basic need in school. Proper breathing techniques can help you reduce stress, anxiety and bring an over all sense of peace. You (your mind, body & spirit) deserve to take a deep breath & genuinely experience relaxation. I tried a breathing exercise w my mom and she would not exhale out of her mouth. So much tension!!!! It was difficult for her to let go. See if you can do it... Do it now! (Inhale 4 counts, exhale 4 counts) 💨💨💨💨 Have a great day 😊 (@landofdistraction)
More than obvious that this was some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a shoot. A nice ‘ol bunch of maniacs together!!! Thanks for keeping me comfortable through all the nip slips, trips, and splashes, y’all. 😂🤣😅 #bts#flashdance
I will never forget this shoot. An absolute joy to work with this team recreating an 80’s classic 🙈 Thanks @instylemagazine 📸 @alexandersaladrigas styled by @jimi_urquiaga hair @shinyanyc mu @aiyokomizo #flashdance
Every dancers dream shoot. 😩 Thank you so much @instylemagazine @laurabrown99 and the entire team for the honor of recreating Flash Dance with you! 👯♀️ #repost @instylemagazine Aside from her love of dance (and recreating some of the most iconic scenes from the film for its 35th anniversary), @_Dilone and the main character of #flashdance, Alex, have a lot in common. “I do see myself in Alex: the curls and her attitude. She’s not gonna take any crap, she knows where she wants to go, and she’s gonna get there. I imagine that I had the same mind-set and determination as a kid too.” | Photographed by @AlexanderSaladrigas
👄 Came to support @gurlstalk!!! 👄 Thank you @adwoaaboah @palomija @teddy_quinlivan for using your voices and time from your busy lives to inspire girls of all ages to no longer fear our own strength. @adwoaaboah, you have created a safe space where women can strengthen themselves by strengthening their bonds with other women who are different and alike. Thank you for all your hard work. #adwoaforpresident#gurlstalk
I was invited to attend the United Nations for #iwd yesterday morning. It was extremely inspiring to hear from such strong and compassionate women such as @danaigurira and @reesewitherspoon @monica_a_ramirez @jusmarai why we must not stop for change until “the very last girl in the corner with no opportunities” is helped. Until then our job is not done. So many good points were made. Like the fact that there ARE strong women in rough circumstances who are rising up and fighting EVERY SINGLE DAY but we have not heard of them. We must give a voice to those who have been denied a platform by utilizing our own platforms. Make (S)heroes POPULAR/on every discovery page. Help to amplify the voices of the women who are already on the battle fronts doing the ground work but are not being heard. Give them a microphone to receive the help they need. BE the help they need. Many of us do not really know or have ever seen the deep suffering that women are experiencing all around the world, in our very own neighborhoods. Some call women weak but I only see resilience and strength for a gender who has been fighting for so much. The oppression, discrimination, and assault on women is being brought to light faster than ever because of social media. Leaders from all countries have heard/known of these atrocities and have turned a blind eye. We have the potential now to share their stories and experiences that they themselves have not been able to share. We won’t stop fighting for change, we won’t stop speaking out until these “leaders” are forced to look these women in the eyes and grant them safer working conditions and freedom from their oppressors. This is a time for action. We are stronger than ever right now. We can not let this opportunity pass us. No one expected #metoo to have turned into what it has. We must move forward full speed and hold ourselves accountable to connect directly and to connect with the leaders on the ground doing the real work. “Eye to
Happy International Women’s Day, Sweethearts/Rebel hearts. May you always acknowledge your achievements and continue to pave the way for future generations to freely have all the rights we have fought so hard to have.
